The blog this week is about none other than Greek Jalapeno. First of all, I cannot believe I have not done a review about this restaurant. It is definitely one of my favorites.
Greek Jalapeno’s is located at 6636 Cooley Lake Rd, between Hospital Rd and Lochaven Rd in Waterford.
Upon entering you will find this is not a big restaurant, but you do not have to be a big restaurant or a chain restaurant to have incredible food, and this place proves it.
Just this past weekend my girlfriend and I visited Greek Jalapeno for probably about the 5th time in the last 6 months, and my only complaint is that they don’t provide me a wheelbarrow, so my girlfriend can wheel me out when I get so full! It’s that good.
When the friendly waitstaff seats you they bring this menu to you that is more like a novel than a menu, and you wonder how they can provide so many options and produce such incredible food, but somehow they do.
On this visit and many other visits I decided to have the fish & chips. I ordered 2 pieces, which is more than enough, which comes with your choice of potato, which is nice, a vegetable and a cup of soup or salad. And even though I don’t really have room for it, I ordered their saganaki because it is so good.
In past visits, several of our friends ordered Mexican dishes, which are also incredible. My girlfriend ordered a Mexican combo # 3 that includes a beef crispy taco, a tinga and a beef enchilada served with guacamole and sour cream. It must be good because this is not the first time she has ordered it.
The other nice thing about this restaurant is that, even though it is a smaller restaurant, it has a full bar that puts out some incredible drinks. One in particular is their fantastic margarita.
